Seeds.
My words, like little seeds grow into stories
and poems. I wonder where, with one seed
can I find a garden of roses or with one seed
a whole forest!Simple clouds like dark seeds in the sky
bring gusts of wind, and my words fearful
and challenged, get absorbed in the ground
along with the rain!My words no longer have the form I imagined
everything has evaporated
like essence of oud* in the courtyards
of a faraway home!ZSA April 1st 2016. * Oud is frankincense with a most pleasing fragrance.

I can relate to your poem. I was driving and a phrase popped into my head but by the time I got to work it was gone... If it was meant to be it will crawl back into my consciousness. I love the daffodils - very fancy ones!! My daffodils are just starting to poke through the ground and they are the common yellow ones with a simple shape - no frills at all.
Aah! I know that feeling of loss. How many times that has happened to me, think of a wonderful plot, or thoughts or lines, and within half a day, it is gone out of my mind, never to return. I always keep a little pad of paper by my bed, and during the night if something hits me as half way decent, I jot it down. But there are times when I am too drowsy or lazy to turn the light on to pen those thoughts down, and then that is the end of the words and thoughts!
I have blessed to have a small bottle of oud, which I use for rejuvenation, after work, with one or two drops being exhilarating. How lucky you are, to have daffodils so soon.
I had to attend a company seminar on communication. I recall that communication is very difficult. What do I want to say. Did I say it correctly. What did they hear? Did they hear what I said? Did they understand what my words meant to say?
No wonder I confuse my wife all of the time. Lol
Loved your poem---classy.
I am sure you are a very patient man and most understanding at that. Norma is very fortunate to have you as her life partner. Thank you for liking my words in the poem Frank.
I'm not a poet, but I enjoy reading yours. When I think or write things, I start out thinking what I'm going to say, but I end up somewhere completely different. Funny how that works.
You are very sweet Gracia. I truly appreciate you reading my poems and liking them. I am sure if you sit down and start writing, your stories and poems will sound wonderful to others.
Love your little seeds that turn into stories; that bring gusts of wind to be absorbed into the ground
! And the daffys are stunning!
Thank you Janet. The early spring has brought out some beauties in the yard. BUT, going through a cold spell now with near freezing temperatures. Hopefully the roller coaster pattern will settle down soon. I am so glad you liked the poem. Thank you.
