HOW TO--
I have been tired of the winter months for almost fifty years. I cringe at the thought of wearing heavy coats and thermal underclothes. When I first came to this part of the world, I was ecstatic that I would see snow, which I had never seen in my life before, and was so happy that I would wear a nice heavy coat and boots and gloves to keep the cold away.
Two days!
Two long days later, I was ready for my tropics and the weather from my land. How could humans live in such conditions? How to make winter go away. I knew within one year that I had no more power over it than a monkey swimming across the English Channel. (Please no body tell me that it has been done!)
How do I get rid of the blues of winter?
Last year I took off to central Florida and escaped the winter. I listened to the ocean waves all day long and all night long. Walked on the beach every single day. That was heaven indeed.
How To--- NPM #5.
How to get rid of this feeling of tiredness, brought on by
the onslaught of winter? Everyone around me consider me to be
a torture, ‘coz I complain all the time.Just look at this landscape. How do I make things green again?
Nothing grows here. I lack clarity. My words, all knotted up
remind me of the gnarled and naked branches on the black trees. How to cure bad weather? Wish you were here. The trees
and grass would look greener. I am beginning to have bad habits,
complaining and whining. How to get rid of these bad habits?Send me back to you! Away from winter!

One possibility is to move to Arizona. The summers are more like those in Punjab, but in the Phoenix area, at least, there is scant snowfall, if any.
I recommend HAWAII. Lol
It is nice to escape to Florida or Arizona. We can't always do that. We have so much rain right now and in the 40's. Not much fun. Wishes for a warmer brighter week!
Frank, I will go there in a heartbeat! That's the place for me.
Miriam, Thanks for the comment. I know exactly how you feel. The rain and the cloudy skies abound here. May be some sunshine on Saturday!
I envy your opportunity to escape to Florida! I was trying to come up with a topic for my "How To" poem. I love your take on this prompt!
Thanks Val. Leah's prompts are not easy, and they are always a challenge to me.
I was the same way about snow when we first moved to Indiana. I had seen snow in the Calif. mountains, but had never actually seen it come down out of the sky. I was so excited the first time! I can handle the coats, etc. and the longies (Cuddleduds are the best.) The thing that bothers me is thinking about my family out driving on snowy, icy, slippery roads. Some winters I wonder why we didn't go back to Calif. I'll feel better when Spring comes, instead of this dreary rainy weather we're having now.
Funny, no?
