  • And Now My Daughter Saadia

Recently I have written about my son Sayeed and how he had negotiated with the Federation regarding the strike. Now I write about my daughter Saadia. Many of you know her from Xanga. (She is the one who had introduced me to all of you through those august pages of Xanga--- oh such a long time ago)

She is so talented and so gifted! In more ways than one I might add. The most loving mother, a devoted wife, an excellent educator, a master poet, adroitly making her words speak volumes, and now she shows me another aspect of her dexterous life.

    She knits!

Oh my God, how beautifully she knits! Her nimble fingers just take to air it seems. She has been knitting up a storm this season. A local boutique is using her work and doing very well. I am posting her link here. She has an Etsy store. (is that what I say? A store? An account with Etsy?) She has given me a couple of her handmade products, which I am so proud to own.

So here is the shout out… a plug, if you might say, please visit her Etsy site and order a scarf or two or a cowl or what have you. You will not be disappointed. They are amazingly warm and truly COMFORTABLE.  Those of us who have to put up with the doldrums of winter, can recognize how good it feels to have a good scarf or cowl around your neck. They make for excellent gifts for the season.

So please check out her site at this address. You will love the pictures and the work.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/SaadiaKNITS

    Pass the word around too.

Love you guys, and may I say thank you?

  • I loved the scarves. That takes a lot of time! I used to crochet but the time is so limited for that anymore. I visited her store. :)

  • @mcbery: thank you Miriam. She has been so diligent in making them and they are going like hot cakes.
